Fishing on the Ouachita River Among other recreational activities, the Ouachita River supports outstanding fishing spots during the spring and summer. The river has been an old favorite spot for Black Kentucky and spotted bass. The stream supports large numbers of blue gill and longear sunfish, and anglers will also land a stringer of rock bass, blue gill and catfish. Take out Points On short floats the take out point is at the Caddo River Bridge. For long floats, it's the Arkadelphia Take-Out Point at the Ouachita River Bridge Park. Being the end of the float, feel free to use the available picnic and camping areas. Also, remember to enjoy the large gravel bars along the river for camping or picnicking.
